I discovered something over the past few days...

Idiscovered there is NOTHING on TV during the day! I usually work Mon thru Thurs and have Fridays off. My Fridays are usually spent running errands, doing laundry, etc. Not a lot of sit-down time in my life because I am a relentless busy-body who struggles with "down time." For me, I enjoy down time after the kids are in bed and I veg out in front of the TV. Then I read a chapter or two from whichever book I am reading and then off to dream land. I generally have no problem falling asleep or staying asleep at night.

On Sunday my daily routinechanged a bit. I'm usually okay with change, but not when it involves pain.

My dog was excited when I came home from the grocery store and managed to slide his 75+ pound body into my left knee. I have an old injury that my adorable yellow lab managed to re-aggravate. (He's lucky to be alive!).

Like I said, I am a busy-body who has a difficult time sitting. While I was pregnant and on bed rest with my daughter I applied to graduate school. While sitting on my duff the past few days I have been trying to use my time wisely. Like, researching info on our next duty station. I was doing pretty well at purging my house in preparation for our PCS this summer, but the purging has ceased for the time being. I have also been working on my resume and looking for jobs in the area we will be PCSing. And, I admit, I have taken a few naps, too!

There's a commercial with a mother and her 2 boys in a medical clinic (I think it's for Walgreens) and the mother has her planner on her lap with a tissue in her hand. She's looking through her planner for "time" to have the flu. And, of course, there is no timeinourlives for illness or injury.

I'm trying not to beat myself up (mentally) for an injury I can do nothing about. I am waiting for Tricare to approve an MRI to see what my options are for treatment. I am planning to go back to work on Monday, but I know I have to be careful not to over-do it. I am just not very good at this. Anyone else have a difficult time with "down time?"
