Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

2008 was the year of weird TDY trips. First there was this, then just before Christmas came another bizarre incident. Bizarre might not be the right word, humorous is more like it. Only it would be my husband, not me, who got the last laugh this time around.

My husband went on a TDY assignment in late-November and called me that evening when he got to his hotel room. He was grumbling about the fact that he had left an essential item at home.

It was his razor, something no military man can do without. I think rules and regulations have a little something to do with it.

I went to the bathroom and sure enough, there sat his razor in the holder. My husband said that there was a CVS just around the corner and he'd just buy a cheap razor to get him through the next few days.

Those days passed and before I knew it, he was back at home. The next morning, I got up and went in the bathroom to shower. Sitting on the counter was something that looked very unfamiliar, and very feminine. It was a Venus razor.

Huh?

My husband brought me a gift, I thought. A razor? How odd....

Then I remembered what had happened and realized that my husband had purchased a Venus razor. For himself....I started laughing. Well, at least he went for the blue one, and not the pink one....

When my husband came home that night, I was laughing and explained to him that a Venus razor is for women, not men. In fact, their tag line is "Find the Venus that's right for your inner Goddess."He let me laugh at him, like the good sport he is. Then, when I was finished laughing, he reminded me that I really didn't have a right to laugh considering what hangs in the shower and has a daily (well, mostly) date with my legs.

Oh, yeah.

Oops.....

So much for razor and gender stereotypes...
