Passing on the Pledge?

Share

An Army friend has recently moved to Korea, and she emailed a group of friends, upset, because her child's Department of Defense school only says the Pledge of Allegiance on Fridays.  She wondered what other schools do. One person responded that their school also only said the Pledge on Fridays, but everyone else said that their child's school says the Pledge of Allegiance every day.  For the most part, we were not happy about a DODDS school choosing to pass on such an important part of our American culture, and a patriotic gesture to boot.

So, I'm curious.  Do your children say the Pledge every day?  What do you think about it?  Is this an issue that is important to you?
