I like to say that we've gotten pretty good mileage out of the Army already. My husband has been in the Active Army for five years now, and we're already on our fifth duty station. Most times when I tell people we've had five PCSes in five years, they smile...and then the sentence hits their brain and they do a double-take! So while we're not nearly as seasoned as some of you other military families, we have managed to cram a fair amount of excitement into our five years so far: gold-bar recruiting, an overseas tour, one OIF deployment, a branch-detail switch from Armor to Finance, and then another branch switch to the new-and-improved Civil Affairs. At last count, I have had nine different part-time jobs since my husband joined the Army. And the funny thing about all of this is that I don't deal well with change or uncertainty! Luckily the Army is trying to cure me of that.
My husband and I don't have children yet, but we do have a dog to keep us crazy. I teach knitting lessons locally, a hobby that helps keep me sane when life gets uncertain. SpouseBUZZ helps for that too...
