Don’t forget that you can find all the updated 2017 military pay charts here at Military.com.

The holidays are coming, and lots of folks are trying to catch up from October's long pay period. Well, the regular military payday is Wednesday, 15 November 2017. More important to know, however, is when your 15 November 2017 military pay is going to turn up in your bank account.

Because many banks and credit unions offer early crediting of direct deposit pay, or direct deposit military pay, some service members may have effective use of their pay before the actual military payday comes along. This can be confusing because sometimes it seems like some people are getting paid before other people. They're not, but the differences between banks can make it seem that way.

USAA

USAA offers crediting of direct deposit pay one business day before the actual payday. For this pay period, that will be Tuesday, 14 November 2017.

USAA pay deposits may credit at any time during the day. While they often credit in the early morning, that is not always true. USAA's JJ Montanaro has helped me find some help in explaining this: USAA's Timing of Military Direct Deposits.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union credits military pay deposits two business days prior to the actual military payday. For this pay period, that will be Monday, 13 November 2017.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) credits military pay deposits two business days prior to the actual military payday. For this pay period, that will be Monday, 13 November 2017.

Navy Federal Credit Union

If you use Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) for your military pay deposit, when you see your pay depends on what type of checking account you use. NFCU has five kinds of checking accounts: Everyday Checking, Active Duty Checking, Campus Checking, e-Checking, and Flagship Checking. Only the Active Duty Checking account offers early crediting of military pay deposits.

If you use an Active Duty Checking account for your military pay deposit, you may see your pay pending on or prior to Monday, 13 November 2017. It will be posted overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 14 November 2017.

If you use any other type of NFCU checking account for your military pay deposit, you may see your pay pending on or prior to Tuesday, 14 November 2017. It will be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 15 November 2017.

Don't forget, including this paycheck there are only 3 more paychecks before Christmas. Be sure you have a spending plan and a way to keep on track so you can start the new year without a holiday spending hangover.
