29 September 2017 Military Pay

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

Because 1 October 2017 is on a Sunday, the next regular, active duty military payday is Friday, 29 September 2017.  We're in the middle of a nice run of 2-week-apart military paydays, making this a great time to straighten our your finances and get prepared for those longer pay periods (like the one coming at the end of October.)

Your 29 September 2017 military pay may show up in your bank account before the actual payday, because many military-friendly banks and credit unions offer early direct deposit as a benefit of membership or being a customer.  If you don't know that your financial institution offers early crediting of military pay, then you should expect to get paid at some point on Friday, 29 September 2017.

If payday has come and gone, and the expected deposit has not shown up in your bank account, start with Why Hasn't My Pay Been Deposited? for the steps to figure out what has gone wrong.

USAA

USAA credits military pay one business day prior to the actual payday, contingent upon the receipt of deposit information from the appropriate pay agency.  For this pay period, that will be Thursday, 28 September 2017.

USAA pay may be deposited at any time during the day.  USAA's Timing of Military Direct Deposits explains more about the process.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) provides early direct deposit for only those members using an Active Duty Checking account, so there are two different pay deposit days for NFCU.

Those members using an Active Duty Checking account will have their pay credited one business day prior to the actual payday, contingent upon the receipt of deposit information from the appropriate pay agency.  For this pay period, that means that NFCU members using an Active Duty Checking account will see their pay pending before or on Wednesday, 27 September 2017, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 28 September 2017.

Those members using any other type of checking account will have their pay credited on the actual military payday.  For this pay period, that means those members will see their pay pending on Thursday, 28 September 2017, to be credited overnight and available for use on Friday, 29 September 2017.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union credits military pay deposits two business days prior to the actual military payday, contingent on the receipt of deposit information from the appropriate pay agency.  For this pay period, that will be Wednesday, 28 September 2017.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) credits military pay deposits two business days prior to the actual military payday, contingent on the receipt of deposit information from the appropriate pay agency.  For this pay period, that will be Wednesday, 28 September 2017.

Don't forget, there are only five more paychecks until Christmas.  It is not too early to plan out your holiday spending and get organized!
