Don’t forget that you can find all the updated 2017 military pay charts here at Military.com.

These Tuesday paydays always cause confusion, and it is easy to understand why.  Different banks and credit unions have different early crediting policies, and different deposit processing practices impact the availability of funds on certain days of the week.  This means that people get paid for "Tuesday" paydays for five days (and sometimes more.)  So, when will your Tuesday, 15 August 2017 military pay hit your bank account?  Could be Friday, or Saturday, or Monday, or Tuesday.  Here's the breakdown.

Note:  Please remember that if your Tuesday, 15 August 2017 military pay is credited before Sunday, you'll have a long pay period ahead of you.  If you're not sure how you'll manage, check out Eight Ways To Get Through A Long Pay Period for some ideas on how to stretch your check a little further.

USAA

USAA credits military pay deposits one business day prior to the actual payday, pending the receipt of pay information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS.)  And yes, they do credit deposits on Monday.  For this pay period, USAA will credit military pay deposits on Monday, 14 August 2017.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union credits military pay two business days prior to the actual payday, pending the receipt of pay information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS.)  For this pay period, Service Credit Union anticipates crediting military pay on Friday, 11 August 2017.

Heads up:  the next anticipated Service Credit Union pay deposit date is not until Wednesday, 30 August 2017 - that's 19 days between paychecks.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) credits military pay two business days prior to the actual payday, pending the receipt of pay information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS.)  For this pay period, PMCU anticipates crediting military pay on Friday, 11 August.

Plan ahead:  The next anticipated PMCU pay deposit date is not until Wednesday, 30 August 2017 - that's 19 days between paychecks.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Tuesday paydays are especially odd with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU).  First, you have to know that there are two different pay deposit dates for NFCU.  Only those members who use an Active Duty Checking account receive early direct deposit;  all other members have their pay deposited on the regularly scheduled payday.

For this pay period, NFCU members who do not use an Active Duty Checking account will have their pay deposited on Tuesday, 15 August 2017.

For those who use an Active Duty Checking account for their military pay deposit, NFCU credits those pay deposits one business day early.  However, NFCU's overnight payment processing system means that they can't make funds available on Monday mornings.  Therefore, NFCU members who use an Active Duty Checking account for their military pay deposit will see the payment pending on or before Friday, 11 August 2017, to be posted overnight and available for use on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

Note:  For folks using Active Duty checking, the subsequent pay deposit will not be until Thursday, 31 August - that's 19 days between pay deposits.

If you aren't dealing with a longer stretch between paychecks this time around, figure out a way to set aside a little money to cover those situations when they come up. You'll be happy when it happens during the second half of October.
