15 December 2016 Military Pay

The last paycheck before Christmas is coming next week.  The 15 December 2016 military pay may be deposited into accounts on different days, depending on the bank that you use.  If you don't know that your bank or credit union offers early direct deposit of military pay, then you should expect your pay to be deposited at some time on Thursday, 15 December 2016.

USAA

As a benefit to its members, USAA credits active duty military pay one business day prior to the actual payday.  For this pay period, that will be Wednesday, 14 December 2016.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is tricky, and it creates a lot of confusion, especially between friends and shipmates who both use NFCU but have their pay deposited on different days. NFCU has several types of checking accounts, including Everyday Checking, Active Duty Checking, e-Checking, Campus Checking, and Flagship Checking. Only Active Duty Checking customers receive their military pay early. If you have your military pay direct deposited into any other type of checking account, you do not get early direct deposit.

You can verify what type of checking account you have by checking your online account access, calling NFCU, or stopping by a branch. If you would prefer to have an Active Duty account, it is easy to change using those same three options.

NFCU members who use an Active Duty Checking account for their pay deposit will see their pay pending on Tuesday, 13 December 2016, to be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 14 December 2016.

NFCU members who use any other type of checking account for their pay deposit will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 14 December 2016, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 15 December 2016.
