13 May 2016 Military Pay

The next regular, active duty military payday is Friday, 13 May 2016.  With the 15th of the month falling on Sunday, the military payday falls on the business day prior to the weekend.  However, with all these various early payday situations, what day will you actually have your 13 May 2016 military pay deposited in your bank account?

As always, if you do not have any reason to believe that your bank or credit union will deposit your pay early, then you should assume that your pay will be deposited sometime on the actual payday.

Long pay period alert:  please notice that the next regular, active duty military payday will be Wednesday, 1 June 2016.  That is nearly a three week pay period, over Memorial Day and the start of summer fun. Do a little planning to make sure your money will last!

One Business Day Early

Several military friendly banks and credit unions offer to credit military deposits one business day early.  This includes USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union.  For this payday, one business day early will be Thursday, 12 May 2016.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union deposits active duty military pay two business days early.  For this payday, that will be Wednesday, 11 May 2016.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union has two different deposit dates, depending on the type of checking account that is used for pay deposits.  Members who use an Active Duty Checking account have their pay deposited one business day early, on Thursday, 12 May 2016.  Members who use any other type of checking account, including e-Checking, Everyday checking, Flagship checking, and Campus Checking, will have their pay deposited on the regular payday, Friday, 13 May 2016.

As always, pay can be deposited at anytime on the payday.  When I hear from readers who are concerned that they haven't been paid, 99% of the time, their pay shows up within a few hours.  In the rare cases where pay really doesn't arrive, here are instructions for how to proceed:  What If I Don't Get Paid.
