Navy Federal May Specials

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is offering a variety of promotions in honor of Military Appreciation Month.  If you are a NFCU member, you can cut costs and even earn some money by taking advantage of these offers.  If you're not a NFCU member, this is a great time join, with a $50 bonus for you and for the person that refers you.

$50 New Member Bonus,

Until 30 May 2014, refer an eligible friend to NFCU for membership, and you'll each get a $50 bonus.  You'll need to give your friend your first and last name, your zip code, and your access number.  Make sure you use the referral page to join, or you won't get the bonus.  Don't have a friend?  Send me a note (kate at katehorrell dot com) and I'll hook you up with someone.

Awesome Active Duty Certificate

Active duty folks who use an NFCU Active Duty checking account for their pay deposits are eligible to purchase a Military Appreciation Certificate of Deposit.  These one year certificates can have any amount, from $25 to $5000.  They earn 3.5%  APY, which is way higher than you will find just about anywhere else.

Switch To Active Duty Checking, Earn $50

If you're on active duty, but you haven't yet switched to NFCU's Active Duty checking account... just do it!  This account offers great benefits for members who have their active duty pay deposited into their Active Duty checking.  These benefits include:  no minimum balance requirement, free checks, up to $20 per month in ATM rebates, and early direct deposit of active duty pay.  Plus, if you open your account before 30 May, you'll get a $50 bonus.

$300 Auto Refinance Rebates

If you have a car loan with another lender, refinance your loan with NFCU.  You'll get a $300 bonus, plus NFCU's great rates.  Depending on your current loan, you could save a bundle in interest and lower your monthly payments.

The month ends in a week, so don't procrastinate.  These are great ways to save and earn money.
