Hersheypark Military Appreciation Day

This Sunday, 27 April 2014, Hersheypark is hosting a special event at which military families can buy admission tickets for just $25 per person, free for children under three.  The park, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, will be open from 10 am to 6 pm.  Parking is free, and the parking lot opens at 9:30 am.

You must present your military ID at the ticket building at Tram Circle to purchase tickets.  This offer is open to active duty, retired, and DoD civilians.  The advertisement does not mention reserves or National Guard, but please call.  I can't imagine they'd be excluded.

If you are traveling a distance, or want to make a weekend of it, there are also lodging discounts.  The Hotel Hershey and Hershey Lodge are offering special military rates for April 27, and you can receive 20% off sites and cabins at Hersheypark Camping Resort for April 25 & 26.

My family attended this day in 2008 and it was a lot of fun, plus a more affordable theme park trip.  After visiting the amusement park, we checked out the adjacent Hershey's Chocolate World, which includes a chocolate-themed ride.

Hershey Park is a family theme park that has over 60 rides and attractions within its 11o acres.  It was founded in 1906 as a leisure park for employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company, and has grown amazingly to include a zoo and waterpark (not open for this event.)

If you're nearby, this is a significant discount off the regular prices of $58.95 for adults and $36.95 for children ages 3-8.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for warm and dry weather.  Enjoy!
