Tuition Assistance Is Coming Back

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

An amendment to the continuing resolution for government funding has directed that the services, including the Coast Guard, should reinstate tuition assistance.  I'm amazed at the way stuff happens in Congress, but if it gets results....

The Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard all suspended new enrollments for tuition assistance earlier this month.  The Navy had not yet suspended tuition assistance, but was looking at other ways to handle the situation.

Officials have not yet announced a timeline for the resumption of tuition assistance, but they do expect that there will be changes to the program.  Some suggested possibilities include reducing the number of credit hours covered per year, or decreasing the per hour cost paid.

I know that many people will be thrilled about that this...people were really mad when tuition assistance was suspended.
