The next military pay day is Friday, 31 August 2012. I know people will be thrilled that it is before the Labor Day holiday weekend! When will you actually see your pay in your bank account? That depends on your bank and your bank account. Most folks will have their pay deposited sometime on the actual pay day, Friday, 31 August. However, some banks and credit unions offer early direct deposit of military pay as a way to make their accounts more appealing to customers. If your bank or bank account offers early direct deposit of military pay, you might have your pay deposited before Friday.
"One business day early," is a common offering by banks, including USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union. For this payday, that would be Thursday, 30 August 2012. Service Credit Union offers, "up to two business days early." Service Credit Union members will most likely see their pay deposited on Wednesday, 29 August 2012. Not guaranteed, though, so don't be crazy.
If you bank with Navy Federal Credit Union, the day of your deposit depends on the type of checking account into which you have your pay deposited. If you have Active Duty checking, then your pay will show as pending on Wednesday, 29 August 2012 and will post overnight to be available for use on Thursday, 30 August 2012. If you have any other type of checking account, then your pay will show as pending on Thursday, 30 August 2012 and will post overnight to be available for use on Friday, 31 August 2012.
What time will you get paid? No particular time...processing over a million active duty pay payments is not a speedy process. Rest assured, that if you have pay coming, it will be in your account at some point on the designated day.
