Here at the Paycheck Chronicles, I come across a variety of interesting and helpful organizations that focus on active duty, reserve, National Guard, retired and retiree families, plus the disabled veterans and their families, and also the families of those who have given their lives in service to our country. This week, I became aware of the Folds of Honor Foundation that provides scholarships for spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members.
I have several reasons for wanting to highlight charitable programs that help military members and their families. First, I want to make sure that eligible beneficiaries hear about all the programs that are out there. Second, I want to help you find places to direct your charitable support. These great groups can always use more publicity, more help, and more money to accomplish their goals. If you can share them on Facebook, or help out at an event, or direct some of your charitable contributions towards a veterans support organization, that would be great.
