10 Reasons to Make a Spending Plan

And now, because lots of people think that budgets are boring, my top ten reasons why you should make a spending plan:

  • Otherwise, you'll spend all your money without spending it on the things that are important to you.
  • Being broke is not attractive to the opposite sex.
  • If you are in debt, you will be able to see an end to the debt.
  • It is totally embarrassing when your credit card is declined.
  • It reduces (or even eliminates) fights with your spouse over money.
  • After a few months, you will feel like you have more money.
  • No more asking, "Where did all my money go?"
  • No one plans to work until the day they die.
  • You will be prepared for unexpected opportunities, whether it be a chance to start your own business, a great house at a great price in a great neighborhood, or a weekend in Vegas with your friends.
  • There really is no other efficient way to get control of your finances, sleep well at night, and accumulate savings.
