Help The Vets You Know

Elsewhere on Military.com, Tom Philpott talks about the generations that came before us:  veterans and their families, many of whom leave service without understanding the benefits available to them.  I know first-hand that this is true:  my own father was a veteran and we didn't know, until his last few weeks of life, that he was eligible for care within the VA medical system.

Often, the active duty service members and their families are the best link to learning about the benefits available to veterans.  If you have friends or family members who have served in the military (I'm guess that you probably do), please help them to learn more about the available benefits.  I'd say there is a good chance that they'll appreciate your effort.
