A new mobile app for the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A) will let soldiers access their own personnel records on a smartphone or tablet. U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, or TRADOC, created a mobile team to screen and approve the new IPPS-A Mobile App on Jan. 18, 2019, according to a release. This month, the app was made available to National Guard soldiers in Pennsylvania; Virginia; and Washington, D.C. It will be released to all other Army regions in phases. Until now, soldiers had to use a Common Access Card, or CAC, to access their Army personnel record. This app allows soldiers to access their records "on the move." They can also submit help inquiries, ask for record updates, and monitor the status of personnel actions on the app. The app's creators are still collecting feedback to improve it as the rollout continues.
