The U.S. Air Force has identified almost 1,500 airmen for promotion to senior master sergeant. The service on Thursday announced it had selected 1,467 airmen for promotions and released a list of 1,458 selectees. (The names of the remaining nine airmen weren't released for security purposes.) They will advance in order of promotion sequence number, beginning April 1. The selection rate was 12.3 percent, according to the Air Force. On average, the overall score was 533.18, time in grade was 4.3 years, the time in service was 18.46 years, decorations score was 20.48, supervisory examination score was 78.42 and board score was 400.23, according to the service.
