Hosted by PBS’s Lisa Desjardins, the Salute to Veterans Series (presented by SAP) honors and pays tribute to the nation’s 3.3 million active duty service members, 22 million veterans and their families during important military/patriotic holidays and commemorations throughout the year. The inspirational and educational program offers insightful discussion, resources and solutions for the ongoing issues our military veterans face daily. Key issues covered include overcoming injury (seen and unseen), employment, education, housing, and prevailing over personal setbacks in life.

The program focuses on the lives of three veterans:

Rocky Bleier, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and four-time Super Bowl Champion who played with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is the President of RB VetCo, a Government Contracting Company and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. He is currently starring in the production “The Play with Rocky Bleier.” Rocky is also an author and motivational speaker.

Bryce Fisher, a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and WAC Defensive Player of the Year for the United states Air Force Academy and a one time Super Bowl runner-up with the Seattle Seahawks. Bryce served two years active duty in the U.S. Air Force and as a Public Affairs Officer in the Illinois Air National Guard. He is currently Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Greg Gadson, a retired U.S. Army Colonel and the former Garrison Commander at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia. He was an honorary captain of the New York Giants with two Super Bowl rings and was a football star at West Point. Greg is the former head of the Army’s Wounded Warrior program and he was featured in the movie “Battleship.” Greg is a Managing Partner at Patriot Strategies, an actor, artist, and a motivational speaker.

All three veterans detail their path from service to success and speak openly and honestly about their struggles and what it means to serve. Visit Salute to Veterans to learn more and to find specific viewing times in your area.
