Located at the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the US Air Force Academy is located northwest of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Spanning 18,000 spectacular acres, the Academy draws thousands of visitors from around the world each year. The Air Force Academy is the youngest of the U.S. service academies.

The Air Force Academy is both a military organization and a university. Much of the Academy is set up like most other Air Force bases, but the superintendent, commandant, dean of faculty and cadet wing are set up in a manner resembling a civilian university.
