Military Discounts for the Golf Enthusiast

Golf is a great way to stay fit, relieve stress and enjoy time outdoors. But between lessons for new golfers, greens fees and equipment, golf can be a costly pastime.
Luckily, there are military discounts available to help. Whether you’re a golfer yourself or you prefer to be a spectator, there are many ways to enjoy the sport using military discounts.
Military Golf Courses
Many military installations throughout the world have their own golf courses through Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). They offer open course play, tournaments and events, pro shops, driving ranges, classes and private lessons all for affordable prices. Click here to find the base near you.
The following golf courses offer military rates:
Augustine Golf Club in Virginia offers military discounts on golf rates during the week and on weekends/holidays.
Callaway Gardens in Georgia offers a 40% military discount off a round of golf.
The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre, Florida offers with military membership options to active duty service members.
Crystal Mountain in Michigan offers all active military personnel a 50% discount off daily golf rates.
Disney Golf in Florida offers military discounts any day of the week to active duty and retired military.
Maryland National Golf Club offers active and retired military personnel 40% off greens fees anytime.
Patuxent Greens Golf Club in Maryland offers a military discount on weekday and weekend rates (discount may vary by time of day).
Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina offers active and retired military a 20% discount on their core packages. The golf packages include the Pinehurst Golf, Donald Ross and Putterboy Packages.
Shades of Green, an Armed Forces Recreation Center on the Walt Disney World property, is surrounded by two PGA Championship Golf Courses. Military rates are available for qualified guests.
Sycuan Golf Resort in California offers a military/heroes rate, which includes discounted rates on their championship courses for active duty military.
Virginia Beach National in Virginia offers military discounts on green fee rates both in-season (April through October) and out-of-season (November through March).
Resort Lodging and Packages
Callaway Gardens in Georgia offers a Patriot Package rate ($89 without golf, $139 with golf) in the Mountain Creek Inn, as well as a 10% discount on Southern Pine Cottages and Mountain Creek Villas.
Lansdowne Resort in Virginia offers the Tribute to the Troops Package for all active and retired military personnel. The package includes Deluxe Room accommodations and full buffet breakfast for up to two adults.
Pinehurst Resort offers a 20% discount off spa therapies, including the Pinehurst Spa and Luxury Spa packages.
Looking for golf events to watch? The PGA TOUR offers free and discounted tickets to select PGA TOUR events for veterans, retirees, and active duty through Birdies for the Brave throughout the year and across the country.
The Marathon Classic LPGA 2016 tournament will be played at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio July 11-17. Active and retired military and one guest receive free grounds admission.
The first place to shop should always be your military Exchange. You pay no sales tax, and most exchanges offer a price matching policy.
PING offers the “Thank You Troops” Military Rebate on select purchases made until August 1, 2016.
The nonprofit charity Fairways for Warriors in Florida provides golf equipment, instruction, and outings to wounded warriors and their family members. The organization provides golf and golf instruction for wounded personnel, ranging from beginners to those with prior golf experience, who are adapting their skills to their new abilities.
