Xerox is passionate about hiring veterans. Because they recognize and appreciate the sacrifices veterans have made and understand the value they bring to their company, they have a focused program to provide employment opportunities for veterans. They hired 1,650 in 2013. With a pledge to hire 7,500 veterans in the next five years, they have various programs in place to support their veteran hiring efforts.
"Heroes@Home" is Xerox's newest offering for veterans, giving them opportunities to work from the comfort of their own home. Their continued participation in monthly virtual career fairs gives transitioning service members direct contact with Xerox recruiters from anywhere in the world.
Since the invention of Xerography 75 years ago, the people of Xerox have helped businesses simplify the way work gets done. Military Recruiting Programs:
As a world leader in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Xerox has a wide range of job opportunities under different lines of business that serve a broad variety of industries. Many of their clients are in the public sector, both state and local government as well as federal.
Xerox actively seeks job applicants who are transitioning military, retired military personnel, and veterans with disabilities, as well as military spouses and family members for job opportunities at Xerox. They are proud partners with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), White House Joining Forces Initiative, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, "HiringOurHeroes" Career Fairs along with other veteran recruiting programs.
Through their Heroes@Home program, Xerox hires qualified veterans and military spouses for at-home employment opportunities. This program was developed leveraging our 30 years of experience with their existing 5,000 virtual workers and their valued partnerships with national veteran support organizations.
In the past year, they've had job placements for customer care agents, image processors, data analysts, help desk specialists, systems developers, leadership roles and many other positions. In addition to their recruiting efforts, Xerox also helps transitioning vets by offering tips on resumes, interviewing, and job search techniques. They also assist in identifying potential job opportunities at their company that match your skill set and military experience. Keep in mind, not all of their positions are eligible to be worked from home. Also, in some cases, geographic restrictions may apply.
Xerox is grateful for the service of its employees deployed with the U.S. military. They recognize their sacrifices and those of their families, and encourage their colleagues to actively support appreciation programs such as the semi-annual care packages to their employees on military leave.
Xerox's additional military appreciation initiatives include:
- a pen pal program with a service member
- writing letters of thanks to military service members
- scholarships for former military servicemen and women
- collecting supplies for care packages
- family assistance as needed
