Marine Veteran Rob Riggle Plays His Former Commanding Officer in the Movie '12 Strong'

Rob Riggle went on the CONAN talk show Wednesday to promote the upcoming Second Annual Rob Riggle InVETational Golf Classic. The tournament, held in partnership with our friends at We Are the Mighty, takes place on December 4th at the North Ranch Country Club in Los Angeles and will raise money for the Semper Fi Fund

Rob appears in the upcoming movie "12 Strong," about the U.S. Special Forces team that was the first group of men on the ground in Afghanistan after 9/11. The actor plays Colonel Max Bowers, a guy who happens to also be Rob's commanding officer when he served in Afghanistan. He talked to Conan about the movie and Col. Bowers on the show.

"12 Strong" opens in theaters on January 19, 2018. Warner Bros. just released a new trailer for the movie, which also stars Chris Hemsworth ("Thor"), Michael Shannon ("Boardwalk Empire"), Michael Peña ("Fury"), Geoff Stults ("Only the Brave") and Austin Stowell ("Bridge of Spies").
