Dierks Bentley is an Arizona native who stepped up with the Country Cares Benefit Concert that raised money for the families of the Granite Mountain Hotshots after 19 of them were killed in the 2013 Yarnell fire.

He's also contributed a new song to Only the Brave, a new movie that pays tribute to the men who perished in that fire. "Hold the Light" is a haunting collaboration with S. Carey from the indie rock band Bon Iver.

The movie opens this week and Dierks has such a connection to the film that he showed up for the movie's press day and talked to us about the Granite Mountain Hotshots, the connection between country music and the military and first responders and the future of live music after the shooting in Las Vegas.
