Chris Foss is renowned for the cover illustrations he did for science fiction writers like Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke, as well as the concept designs he did for the Superman and Alien movies.

Titan Books has just released Hardware: The Definitive SF Works of Chris Foss, a career retrospective that features some of Foss' most iconic designs and they've given us a gallery of images from the book that showcase his designs for imaginary military hardware that looks like it might actually work if you built it.
