Things have been pretty quiet lately on the Mastodon front. Crack the Skye came out over two years ago and they haven't played a U.S. show since some time last year.
So here's the good news: they've been recording a new album at Doppler Studios in Atlanta, their cover of ZZ Top's "Just Got Paid" shows up on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon soundtrack, there's a European festival tour coming this summer and, best of all, guitarist Brent Hinds has just made a commercial for local Atlanta burrito joint Elmyr. Their Pad Thai Burrito is worth a trip to the ATL all by itself, so props to Brent for helping out the hometown hipsters.
