Somehow, we've never written about LCD Soundsystem here at UTR. Which is weird because they're one of my favorite bands and I really, really liked their last album This is Happening. So, thanks to the Muppets and a fan video for "Dance Yrself Clean" on YouTube for bringing them up now.
LCD Soundsystem announced their breakup last month and there's been a lot of drama with scalpers buying up all the tickets to their farewell show at NYC's Madison Square Garden. So much drama, in fact, that I'm afraid the band's now more famous for lead singer James Murphy's ticket freakout than they've ever been for their music.
Somehow this video manages to bring the focus back to the music with Kermit the Frog acting as a stand in for James Murphy and all of the singer's worries about turning into the old guy in the club. It's 7 1/2 minutes long (still a half minute shorter than "Stairway to Heaven") so be patient and let the whole thing work itself out.
