Don’t forget that you can find all the updated 2017 military pay charts here at Military.com.

People are already asking when various banks and credit unions will credit Friday, 14 April 2017 military pay deposits.  Whoa!  It hasn't even been a full week since the last payday!  Most people will have their pay deposited on the actual payday, Friday, 14 April 2017.  Military members who bank with a financial institution that offers early direct deposit may have their pay credited early, based upon the policies and procedures of their particular bank or credit union.  Here are the ones that I know:

USAA

USAA credits active duty military pay one business day prior to the actual military payday.  For this pay period, payments will be credited on Thursday, 13 April 2017.

Pacific Marine Credit Union

Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) credits active duty military pay two business days prior to the actual military payday. For this pay period, payments will be credited on Wednesday, 12 April 2017.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union credits active duty military pay two business days prior to the actual military payday. For this pay period, payments will be credited on Wednesday, 12 April 2017.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Oh, Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU.)  I like you.  I bank with you.  But you sure do create a lot of confusion about paydays.

NFCU only offers early direct deposit as a benefit to one particular type of checking account:  Active Duty Checking.  You don't automatically have an Active Duty Checking account just because you have a checking account and you are on active duty.  You picked what type of checking account you wanted when you opened it, or you may have switched your account type along the way.  The Active Duty Checking account is the most popular checking account for those with regular, military paychecks, including active duty, reserve, and retired military members.  If you use any other type of checking account for your military pay, you don't get early direct deposit with NFCU.

For this pay period, Active Duty Checking members will have their pay available for use on the morning of Thursday, 13 April 2017.

For this pay period, all other members will have their pay available for use on the morning of Friday, 14 April 2017.
