The next regular, active duty military payday is Friday,14 November 2014. When will you actually get paid? That depends on your bank, its policies, and some other variables. Most banks and credit unions deposit active duty military pay on the actual payday. However, some companies offer early direct deposit as a benefit to their customers. Thankfully, even early posting is relatively uncomplicated for a Friday payday.
One Business Day Early
Many military banks and credit unions offer to deposit military pay one business day early. While other banks and credit unions may offer this benefit, the two big banks that pay one business day early are USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union. For this pay period, one business day early equals Thursday, 13 November 2014.
Service Credit Union
Service Credit Union’s policy is less structured, which is good and bad. Service Credit Union will credit active duty military pay “up to two business days” prior to the actual payday, if the payroll information is received from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). Service Credit Union members with active duty military pay could see their end-of-month pay credited as early as Wednesday, 12 November 2014. Please remember that Service Credit Union does not guarantee that the pay will be deposited early; don’t spend it until you see it!
Navy Federal Credit Union
Navy Federal Credit Union has offers early deposit for just one of their checking accounts. Their Active Duty checking account offers early direct deposit. All other account types receive their pay deposits on the regularly scheduled paydays.
NFCU members who use Active Duty checking accounts will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 12 November 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 13 November 2014. NFCU members who use any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Thursday, 13 November 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 14 November 2014.
