14 February 2014 Military Pay

Happy Valentine's Day!  The next regular, active duty military payday is Friday, 14 February 2014.  While the official payday is Friday, many military-oriented banks and credit unions offer early direct deposit as a feature for their customers.  That can make it confusing to know when you'll see your pay, especially if your neighbors or buddies use a different bank and get their pay before or after you do.  What you need to know is when YOUR bank is going to deposit your pay.

One Business Day Early

Both USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union offer early direct deposit one business day before the actual payday.  For this pay period, one business day early equals Thursday, 13 February 2014.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union posts active duty military pay “up to two business days” prior to the actual payday, but only if the payroll information is received in time, and it is not guaranteed.

Service Credit Union members with active duty military pay could see their mid-month pay as early as Wednesday, 12 February 2014.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) has two different paydays depending on which type of account you use.  NFCU members who use Active Duty checking accounts will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 12 February 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 13 February 2014.  NFCU members who use any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Thursday, 13 February 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 14 February 2014.

Please note that NFCU (usually) show pays as pending on the day before it will actually be available.  This can be confusing.  It then often disappears in the afternoon or evening before it is posted, and it is posted during the overnight hours.  The pay is available for use when it is actually posted and not when it is pending.

Pay can come at any time of the day, and it can vary from payday to payday.  See When Will I Get Paid? for more information.
