Free Museums This Summer

Looking for a way to keep the family busy this summer without spending, all your extra cash?  Blue Star Museums, which runs 27 May 2013 until 2 September 2013, provides free museum entry to active duty, National Guard and reserve military families.   Whoo hoo!

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration between Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts, Joining Forces, the MetLife Foundation and various museums across the country.  There are opportunities at more than 2,000 museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa.  Participating venues include science museums, nature centers, children's museums, history museums and fine arts museums - there is something for everyone.

We've not yet had the opportunity to take advantage of the Blue Star Museums program, but I am looking forward to the opportunity to visit some interesting places during our trip to the US this summer.

Have you visited any museums under the Blue Star Museum program?  I'd love to hear!
