15 February 2013 Military Pay

The next regular, active duty, military payday is next Friday, 15 February 2013.  That is the day designated by Congress for payday, and that is day that financial institutions are instructed to post your pay.  Banks and credit unions that are trying to gain military customers often offer "early direct deposit" as a benefit, with several variations on the idea.

Banks and credit unions that deposit active duty pay one business day early will have February mid-month pay deposited on Thursday, 14 February 2013.  Institutions with this policy include  USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU).

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) member's will see their pay deposited on different days depending on their checking account type.    Members with Active Duty checking accounts will have their pay pending on Wednesday, 13 February 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 14 February 2013.  Members with other types of checking accounts will have their pay pending on Thursday, 14 February 2013, to be posted overnight and available for use on Friday, 15 February 2013.

Service Credit Union offers direct deposit up to two days early.  It is likely that Service Credit Union members will have their pay deposited on Wednesday, 13 February 2013, but there is no guarantee.    Service Credit Union never  guarantees that pay will be deposited early, but their track record is pretty good.

As always, pay can come at any time during the day.  For more information, see  What Time Will I Get Paid?
