15 March 2012 Military Pay

Another half a month, another pay day coming.  The next military pay day is Thursday, 15 March 2012.  Most military service members will see their active duty military pay direct deposited into their account at some time on Thursday, 15 March.  However, some banks and credit unions offer early deposit of active duty military pay as a benefit to their customers.  Sometimes this makes things a little confusing...

USAA, PMCU, and some others will release military pay one business day early.  For this pay period, this means Wednesday, 14 March.  Don't forget, it can be released any time on that day.  Service Credit Union posts pay several days early and it is hard to predict when their pay will be released.

If you bank with Navy Federal Credit Union, the day of your pay release depends on what type of checking account you maintain.  Active Duty checking account folks will see their pay pending on Tuesday, 13 March, to be posted overnight and available for use on Wednesday, 14 March.  Customers with any other type of checking account will see their pay pending on Wednesday, 14 March, to be posted overnight and available for use on Thursday, 15 March.  Not sure which type of account you have?  Check your online account access list, call them, or stop by a branch.
