1 September 2011 Military Pay

It's that time of month again...when people start wondering when their next paycheck with appear.  Depending on your bank's posting policies, this could be a longish pay period.  The next military pay day is Thursday, 1 September 2011.   When will that pay be deposited into your bank account?  That depends on your bank and your account.

Most banks will release those funds sometime on Thursday, 1 September, or overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.  It isn't always the same time each pay period because there are a lot of factors that go into when your pay is posted.

Some banks offer early direct deposit of military pay to their customers.  Big names that I know include USAA and PMCU, but there are more that I don't know.  If your bank typically releases your direct deposit early, then you will see your deposit on Wednesday, 31 August, or overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.  Again, there is no exact time that this will happen.  It is a long process to credit all those deposits, particularly for banks that have lots of military members.

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) customers will have to know what type of checking account they have in order to know when to expect their pay.  If you have an "active duty checking," then you should expect to see your pay one day early, on Wednesday, August 31.  Not sure which account you have?  Check your online account information, give them a call, or ask at your branch.
