15 July 2011 Pay Predictions

Time for our twice-monthly predictions of when the major military banks and credit unions will probably release funds for the 15 July 2011 payday.  This is a very "regular" payday, meaning that the 15th is actually the regularly scheduled payday and there is no moving around due to weekends and holidays.  Unless your bank or credit union offers some sort of early release of funds, you should expect to see your military pay deposited some time on Friday, 15 July 2011.

If your bank typically releases your funds one day early, like USAA, then you should see your deposit some time on Thursday, 14 July 2011.

If you have an Active Duty Checking account with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU), then you will have your deposit released on an unspecified day prior to Friday.  Last pay period, which was laid out the same as this one, NFCU Active Duty Checking accounts saw their deposits released overnight on Wednesday to be available on Thursday.  Unfortunately, NFCU's early release of direct deposit for Active Duty Checking is a little less predictable than the standard "one day early" offered by some banks, so I'm not comfortable making an actual "prediction."  I am planning that the money will be released overnight on Thursday night to be available on Friday, 15 July 2011.  Yes, I know, that isn't early.  However, with the uncertainty around when NFCU Active Duty Checking account money will be released, I'd rather be planning on the side of caution.

If you bank with NFCU, but have any other type of account, then you should see your money released overnight on Thursday to be available on Friday, 15 July 2011.

I don't have personal experience with any other military banking.  It would be great if readers could comment with their experiences, so that others may benefit.
