1 July 2011 Pay

I think I'm going to start making this a twice-monthly event:  guess when Navy Federal and USAA are going to release active duty pay.  To be fair, USAA is VERY consistent.  I have only once seen a situation in which they did not deposit funds on the day prior to the actual payday, and that only for the Coast Guard and was a situation out of their control.  Therefore, I am going to make the very certain prediction that USAA will release 1 July 2011 pay funds on Thursday, 30 June 2011.

Navy Federal can be a little more confusing.  First, you have to determine what kind of checking account you maintain.  If you have an Active Duty Checking Account, you will (probably) see your deposit early.  My guess is that it will be released overnight on Tuesday and be available for use on Wednesday, 29 June 2011, but I'm not super confident about that guess.  It could easily be a day earlier, I'm just thinking on the conservative side to be safe.  For all we know, it could be a day later as well, but my bet is on the Tuesday-Wednesday combo. *see update below

If you have any other kind of checking, you should see your deposit posted to your account overnight on Thursday to be available on Friday, 1 July 2011.

I honestly don't have enough experience with any other banks to guess on their funds release policies.  As always, please remember that payday is 1 July - anything earlier is a bonus.

UPDATE:  My husband's Navy Federal deposit is showing that it will post overnight on Wednesday to be available on Thursday, 30 June.
