More 2010 Veteran's Day Discounts

I've got updates to the 2010 Veteran's Day Discounts article that I published last week.  If you missed that one, be sure to click back it includes some fabulous free dining!  And for the new stuff:

National Restaurant Chains:

Hooters is offering a free meal from their Veteran's Day menu all day on Thursday, November 11th, 2010.  A drink purchase is required, and you must have proof of service.  Not all locations are participating but you can open a list of locations from the Veteran's Day Promotion page.

Chili's is offering a free entree from a selected menu to all veterans on Thursday, November 11th, 2010.  The flyer states that proof of service must be provided, but doesn't say what type of proof will be accepted.

Uno's Chicago Grill and Bar (which for some reason I always think of as Pizzaria Uno) is also offering free meals on Veteran's Day 2010, including your choice of an entree or an individual pizza.  There is a catch - you must purchase another meal or pizza, so this is more of a buy-one-get-one free deal.  Not great for a group of buddies or a dual military couple, but maybe nice for a veteran and a friend.

I can't find actual documentation, but rumor has it that TGIF will be offering buy one, get one free meals with proof of veteran status for the entire weekend, November 11th through November 14, 2010.  Thanks to Military Wives Saving for that tip.  I did find mention of it at the TGIF Facebook fan page, but it wasn't a link or a flyer.  Be sure to call first!

Famous Dave's locations across the country are offering assorted specials on Veteran's Day - check this list to see what your location might have planned.

Local Deals:

Some Texas Roadhouses across the country will be offering free meals on Thursday, November 11th, 2010.  The promotion really varies depending on your location.   You can go to the Texas Roadhouse main page, find your local location, and click through to their homepage to see what sorts of deals they offer.  I randomly checked about 10 locations, and found only one that was offering the promotion.  You can always call your location to see if there is an unpublished special running.

Another promotion that is only happening in some locations is the free Subway 6" sandwich.  I have heard reports that it is available in certain Florida locations, but other sites might also be offering this deal.

Some Zaxby's restaurants are offering a free meal, as well.  A commenter at The Military Wallet states that this deal will be good at locations in the Raleigh, North Carolina area and is also available to fire, police and EMT personnel.

Live in Iowa?  Cedar Falls based chain Barmuda is offering a free entree on Veteran's Day, with proof of service.  Barmuda has quite a few restaurants from which to choose.

If you live near a Hy-Vee with a cafe, you can enjoy a free breakfast, including beverage during regular breakfast hours on Veteran's Day 2010.  What a lovely way to start the day!

A few quick notes before you go out to enjoy all these treats:  always check before you start ordering, please tip on the total value of the whole meal before the discount, say "thank you" and enjoy!  You have earned it!

Non-Restaurant Discounts:

Sleep Number beds are offering a few things this Veteran's Day.  First, a free travel pillow just for going into the store between October 31st and November 14th, 2010 and trying out their Sleep Number beds.   Then, if you decide to purchase, you can get a $750 discount off of the i8 bed, plus free delivery, and 30% off of other bedding solutions.  (Thanks to Greta of Hooah Wife and Friends for forwarding this email to me.)

Bed and Breakfast for Veterans promotion offers a free night's stay in a participating bed and breakfast.

Selected Sport Clips locations are offering free haircuts for active duty and veterans on November 11th, 2010.  Please call your local shop to see if they are participating.

Build-a-Bear Workshops are offering a 20% discount for active duty military from November 11th to November 15th, 2010.  A similar discount is available online, offering $10 off of $50 or more using coupon code 95309.

Dollar General is offering a 10% discount to active duty, veterans and military families on Veteran's Day.

Cabela's is offering their employee discount to all veterans on November 11th and 12th.  As last year, details are sketchy so be sure to confirm before you make a trip.  Discount varies from 5% to 50% depending on the item.

Fashion Bug is offering 20% off to military family members with military ID.  (Again, can't verify, please call!)

To all our veterans, Thank You!
