The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration is a program administered by the Department of Defense to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The Commemoration was authorized by an act of Congress.

March 29 was chosen to be observed as Vietnam Veterans day, since that was the day United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished and also the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam.

For details on ceremonies, as well as more information about the commemorative pin, and Vietnam Veterans Day you can visit the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration's website

The free lapel pin is available to any veteran who served on active duty during the period from Nov. 1, 1955 through May 15, 1975.

Those veterans who are unable to attend a local event can still receive the commemorative lapel pin by visiting the organization's website
