High Tech Training Program for Vets

The VA's Innovations partnership with TechShop and the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) was expanded to include General Electric. The program was developed to provide high tech training that will give veterans the cutting edge skills and equipment they need to become more competitive in the job market.

With the partnership, veterans  will get training on rapid prototyping tools (such as 3D printers) and gain skills to design, prototype and manufacture a wide array of items. The VA program at TechShop also provides an opportunity to learn the design-and-build process of developing an idea and potentially starting a business.

TechShop is a membership-based, do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio that supports a growing community of makers and innovators. TechShop has six locations which offers classes and personal instruction for individuals as they work to solve a variety of problems.

With the addition of GE, the high tech training program will now give up to 3,000 veterans a one-year memberships. If you are interested in participating in this partnership, please visit: .
