According to an addition to the FY 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Reserve and Guard members involuntarily activated to support contingency operations with a 12304b designation on their orders will receive TRICARE benefits upon the 180 day mark prior to their activation or the active duty order date, whichever is later.
