The deadline to file taxes with the IRS or request an extension is running out as all tax returns must be filed by the April 15 deadline if you do not have an extension or other special circumstance. If you owe the IRS money and fail to file your taxes on time, you may be subject to paying the tax along with interest and penalty fees. If you file an extension and pay your tax obligations to the IRS after April 15, you will generally still owe interest along with the taxes.
