The World War I centennial year has arrived. There are a number of events planned in Europe to commemorate military campaigns and battles in the months ahead. In the meantime, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and many federal agencies will continue to participate in planning for Nov. 11, 2018, which is the 100th anniversary of the armistice bringing World War I to an end. In partnership with the World War I Centennial program, the U.S. Mint is issuing a World War I Centennial silver dollar. The coin, and its companion silver medals, are available to purchase. For more information, read the VA VAntage Point Blog and visit the WWI Centennial Commission website.
