The U.S. Navy has released quotas for the fiscal year 2017 active duty E-9 board. Eligible senior chiefs will see an increase in advancement opportunity. Approximately 3,580 E-8 records were reviewed by the board. There are a total of 474 quotas, an increase of 80 quotas from last year's board, and opportunity remains near the 10-year opportunity average of 12.53 percent for E-8's to advance to E-9.
