The Navy's 2019 active-duty fund drive for the Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) kicked off March 1. The NMCRS, started in 1904, provides need-based financial assistance to active-duty and retired sailors, Marines, their families, surviving spouses and orphans. In 2018, the NMCRS provided financial assistance for nearly 50,000 sailors, Marines, retirees and sea-service families with more than $45 million in interest-free loans and grants. The goal for this year is to raise $12.5 million. Read more about NMCRS and learn how to donate on its website.
