A recent audit report by the Office of the Auditor General for the State of Michigan of the Grand Rapids Veterans Home has revealed quality-of-care issues like not administering pharmaceuticals correctly and abuse and neglect cases not being taken seriously. The report also revealed the home was understaffed 81 percent of the time. Two state Senate committees will hold hearings on the audit.
