The U.S. Air Forces Central Command recently published its September Airpower Summary, highlighting airpower operations in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. In Afghanistan, AFCENT Airmen operated as part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and the NATO Resolute Support Mission to train, advise and assist the Afghan Air Force, most recently in 'Speedball' training; a rapid relief supply airdrop capability. Simultaneously, in Iraq and Syria, Coalition Airmen enabled Islamic State of Iraq and Syria clearance operations within the Middle Euphrates River Valley as a part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
