The Air Force Space and Missile Center, partnered with the National Reconnaissance Office, awarded contracts totaling $739 million in February for space exploration and launch services. Two Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle, or EELV, contracts were awarded Feb. 19. The awards included a $297 million contract for launch services with Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, or SpaceX, to deliver AFSPC-44, NROL-85 and NROL-87 into orbit; and a $441.76 million contract with United Launch Alliance to deliver SBIRS GEO-5, SBIRS GEO-6, and SILENTBARKER into orbit.
