Veterans in New Jersey will now receive priority status for affordable public housing. Gov. Chris Christie recently signed legislation into law that requires the state division of housing and community resources to consult with the state department of military and veterans affairs and provide preferential status to vets who quality for public housing assistance. It is hoped the new law will help get homeless veterans off the streets.
