In an effort to increase coordination in support of the Air Force’s nuclear modernization efforts, two Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) directorates recently merged to form a single Logistics, Civil Engineering, Force Protection and Nuclear Integration Directorate. The combined directorate’s mission is to shape the workforce and infrastructure to provide logistics, sustainment and installation support for Air Force weapon systems, acquisition logistics, supply management, depot maintenance and nuclear integration. The reorganization aligns AFMC to other major command structures. The new directorate has eight divisions and retains the A4/10 designation.
