The U.S. Navy recently announced its Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 graduate education quota plan. The FY 18 plan provides about 1,450 funded opportunities for degree and non-degree programs. The plan also incorporates the new Requirements management (RM) community, 6511, Subspecialty Code (SSC) family. The Cyber System Operation program allows up to five enlisted personnel per year to obtain a 12 month in-residence Master's degree at Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). The Navy also offers numerous fellowship programs. Officers have a number of opportunities to pursue advanced education, including a political military master's, the Law Education program and the Unrestricted Line Graduate Education Voucher program. Sailors of all ranks are encouraged to explore education opportunities with their detailer or mentor as an integral part of a career development.
